I thoroughly enjoyed reading Crystal Stairs. I was captivated by the characters. I could hardly put the book down because I wanted to get to the end! You may find yourself riveted by Jewel, the main character’s determination; yet feel a variety of emotions about the circumstances that she and some of her friends have experienced. Jewel’s perspective about coming to grips with the realities of life while staying open for healing and restoration are situations which can be further addressed from the sacred and secular perspectives.

This reminds me of reading MAMA by Terry McMillian for the first time with the lyrical quality of Beverly Jenkins. This is one of the best works I have read in years! I am a reader so that says a lot. I have given the book away and purchased it about 3 times. This is especially needed now because I often say that #metoo is coming to church and needs to be addressed. Crystal Stairs does that! I hope that now that there is a link for the Ebook Ministries invest and make it a part of their teachings. People are hurting and really need this book.

No matter who you are, in some shape, way or form, you will be able to relate to this book that zeros in on lives that encounter real life issues and how these ladies dealt with them. K.D. Smith knows how to capture an audience . I could not put this book down. At times I felt as if I was on an adventure. The book had the right balance of ups and downs which is all so reflective of life in general. K.D. Smith took on the tough task of tackling religion and family dynamics all in one book and did it superbly . Can’t wait for her next book.

K.D.Smith really captured and retained my attention. The characters and scenarios were so real. The scenarios are often overlooked and swept under the rug in many churches, but really do exist. Smith was able to paint a vivid picture of the wordly issues that go on in the church, yet the book exudes strong spirituality and faith. LOVED IT!
